Rivalries
- Adelaide Crows
Port Adelaide's main rivalry is with Adelaide, the annual match has been named "the showdown". The rivalry between the two South Australian clubs is often referred to as one of the intense and fierce in the AFL. The rivalry can be stemmed back to the "winner takes all" competition to obtain the two South Australian licenses to the AFL.
- Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane-Port rivalry can be dated back to Port's inaugural season, when Brisbane had just merged with the Fitzroy Lions. The two clubs had many close encounters. During the early 2000's both clubs were involved at the top end of the table and shared many intense finals, including the 2004 grand final in which Port ended Brisbane's 3 year dominance. The rivalry was reignited in the 2019 season when Port tagged Lachie Neale.
